About Us

Two Free were formed in 2007 as “Entre Nous” and started out as a bit of fun between two people who liked music. It all started from a jam really and for the first few months we only did covers.

Due to illness we have not really got going properly until 2009 and when we got back together we both had a desire to write and record our own material. This resulted in a number of songs and we started to record them using Mike’s Home studio setup and Jules’s home PC.

In Sept 2009 we did our first real recording session at the Grange Farm studios in Cambridgeshire. The day was interesting as Mike had damaged his hand playing football and one particular chord was very painful to play. However with the help of Studio trickery and Isi the studio engineer there being patient  we first recorded one song then another (Much faster as that bad chord was not in that one).

The songs that came out of that session were “The Haunting Stare” and Don’t Wanna Fade away. It was also at this time that we decided to change the name to “Two Free”

We have played in front of people on two occasions so far. the first one was the Fenland jam in Ely, Cambridgeshire where we did two songs (Covers) and went down really well. The second was at “The Hangout” at the Grange Farm Studios in front of a room full of Musicians. (Mike - That was the scariest thing I have ever done). Again it went down well and we did three songs (Two covers of Evanescence songs and one original song - The Haunting stare).

Playing live is something we want to do more in the future but only short sets for charity gigs and the like as we enjoy those more than trying to play full gigs. we don’t want to make money from this as the music and the enjoyment are the things that motivate us to do what we do.
